I'm low-tech

I was asking Steven about the stoves, grills, stand mixers, etc., at his restaurant. He asked why I wanted to know and I told him that I was just interested because I love that professional stuff and wish I could have it in my home kitchen. He said, "Mom, stop dreaming, you are always going to be low-tech, so just forget about it."

That is probably a good thing since I am systematically destroying everything cooking-related in my kitchen. At least I'm only destroying low-tech stuff!

Speaking of that, the house filled with smoke yesterday as I cooked dinner in the ovens after spilling pork juice all over them when I made the pulled pork the other day. When Jack and Drew were little, they used to say that they could tell when I was cooking because the smoke alarms would go off! I guess I haven't changed much.

Thank you! I read your comment to my 25 year old son, who thinks blogging is a stupid, waste of time.
